Online shopping site of the week: GottaDeal.com
GottaDeal (www.GottaDeal.com) presents an interesting service for those who want to save money without putting on pants. Basically, it’s extreme couponing for the Internet age.
The website prides itself on exhaustively aggregating money-saving deals for a wealth of products found across the Internet. Dozens of deals are posted every day for items as varied as laptops, comforters and a Hanging Santa Christmas decoration. GottaDeal links directly to the deals they find — they don’t sell anything directly, just take you where you need to go — so prospective buyers will find themselves in all corners of the Web.
One of GottaDeal’s main draws — besides its vibrant forum, which has over 196,000 registered members — is its dedicated Black Friday section, which, according to the website, has made GottaDeal “despised by some major national retailers.” The site has been counting down to Black Friday since early August, periodically posting coupons and leaked circulars from major retailers as ammo against uninformed Black Friday shopping.
The real heart of the website, though, is its daily outpouring of deals, which can be sorted by retailer, product category and more. Deals cover the home page and cascade down a sidebar. They’re everywhere, ready for smart shoppers to scoop them up. Just don’t go too credit card crazy. And put on some jeans, while you’re at it.
