... and I loved it.
Yes, I was one of the crazy people at the theater WAY past my bedtime on a work night. It was worthit. The best parts of the book were in the movi -- including the menace, heartbreak and terror. Plus, Jennifer Lawrence brought a bit of humor to Katniss -- and much as I loved the character in the book, it was good to see a bit of a spark from her.
Speaking of spark -- yes, the Girl On Fire sequences were perfect. Katniss' creeping realization that in order to win -- and to save Peeta -- she's have to play to the cameras was heartbreaking -- especially in light of Peeta talking about how he didn't want the game to change him.
And honestly? I loved Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. He brought the right balance of inate likeability and puppy love to the part.
