Bears Hire Trestman As Coach

NFL via Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- The Chicago Bears have found their head coach. The Bears have hired the CFL's Montreal Alouettes head coach Marc Trestman to the same position.  Trestman will take over for Lovie Smith, who coached the team for nine seasons and was fired after a 10-6 season did not result in a playoff appearance for Chicago.   Trestman will be introduced at a Thursday morning press conference. Logan Thomas Returning to Virginia Tech

Nets Top Raptors for 7th Straight

The Nets won their seventh straight game by defeating the Toronto Raptors 113-106 on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center. Joe Johnson scored 21 points, while Brook Lopez added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Nets, who extended their record to 9-1 under interim coach P.J. Clippers Top Rockets Without Paul

National Basketball Association(HOUSTON) -- The Los Angeles Clippers were without point guard Chris Paul for the second straight game and for the second straight night, that didn't seem to bother them. Jamal Crawford had a season-high 30 points to lead the Clippers past the Houston Rockets 117-109 on Tuesday night. At one point, Crawford scored 12 consecutive points for the Clippers (30-9). Wisconsin Upsets No. 2 Indiana

Joe Robbins/Getty Images(BLOOMINGTON, Ind.) -- Wisconsin simply has Indiana's number.  The Badgers upset second-ranked Indiana 64-59 on Tuesday night for their eleventh straight victory over the Hoosiers.  Wisconsin took sole possession of first place in the Big Ten with the win, and have won seven in a row overall.  After trailing by one at halftime, the Badgers slowed down the tempo and held Indiana to 37 percent shooting for the contest. T-Wolves Forward Kevin Love Undergoes Successful Surgery

Minnesota Timberwolves/NBA(MINNEAPOLIS) -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love underwent successful surgery on his broken right hand, the club announced on Tuesday. He is expected to miss 8-10 weeks.The 24-year-old Love was operated on by Dr. Michelle Carson at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.The two-time All-Star re-fractured his right hand earlier this month in a game against the Denver Nuggets. Report: Soriano Agrees to Deal with Washington Nationals

Elsa/Getty Images(WASHINGTON)  -- Free agent reliever Rafael Soriano has agreed to a two-year contract with the Washington Nationals on Tuesday worth $28 million, according to ESPN. The deal also includes a third-year at $14 million, which kicks in if the right-hander is able to finish a combined 120 games over his two-year deal.The 33-year-old Soriano spent the previous two seasons with the New York Yankees. Chargers Welcome Mike McCoy to San Diego

76ers' Center Andrew Bynum Hopes to Play After All-Star Break

NBA via Philadelphia 76ers (PHILADELPHIA) -- The Philadelphia 76ers prized offseason addition, center Andrew Bynum, hasn't played a single minute for the team yet this season, but hopes to return after the All-Star break.Bynum, who's been battling knee problems all season, took part in shooting drills and other on-court activities on Monday to inch nearer to a return to the court. ESPN - CHICAGO Bulls REPORT

TORONTO -- For the third consecutive road trip, Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose traveled with his team in advance of their game against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Tuesday that Rose still hasn't been cleared for full contact practices yet, but he seems to be getting closer to a return. Thibodeau said Rose is in about the same kind of shape that he's always been in as continues his rehab from a torn ACL in his left knee.
